Baby Belly

I am now 17 weeks along (and for those of you who struggle with the week thing, that's just over 4 months). I really hate this picture, and I really did not think I looked at big as I feel like I do in this picture. I did just eat so maybe my belly was extra big. For some reason Drew and I seriously struggle with these side shots, so you should all feel very lucky that we finally got something posted. :)

Babysitters!

This past week Drew and I took care of four kids while their parents had a little vacation. The oldest was a 10 year old boy and then the rest were girls 7, 5, & 3. Although I battled being tired a little bit it really was pretty fun. I am glad, however, that my kids will come one at a time and I will have the chance to get used to being a mom gradually. The boy knew more about tractors and farming than probably anyone else in the whole world, which was pretty funny to us. By the end of our week the three girls had become very attached to Drew, especially the youngest two. The last day we were there they made him the King and he laid on the couch while they waited on him and referred to him at "My Highness" (so funny). They brought him food, cleaned his "quarters" (which he ordered them to do to help me clean up the living room), planned his royal ball, and anything else he wanted them to do, and even some things maybe he didn't want them to do. I didn't know he had it in him to be such a good sport playing with little girls. It was so funny to watch.

Answering a Few Questions

1. Drew and I are in Washington. Drew is doing his internship here until the end up March. I'm sorta kinda working part-time for my mom.

2. Drew is going to sell for APX again this summer. We just found out yesterday that we're going to Philadelphia. Drew is really excited about going there.

3. We don't know the sex of the baby yet, but we definitely are going to find out.

4. The reason I don't plan on the baby being a girl is because Drew's family just doesn't really have girls. They're boy people. :) I really hope I can have at least one girl, but I'm just not going to plan on it because I don't want to get my hopes up.

5. As of today I am 15 weeks along. The official due date is August 4th.

Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound and doctors appointment yesterday. The ultrasound was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I've been sick, my clothes have been getting tighter, and I even had a positive pregnancy test, but still part of me wasn't sure if there was really something in there or not until we got to see it up on that screen. It honestly was so exciting. Unfortunately the baby was in a funny spot so it was hard to get good pictures but here are a couple they got. The ultrasound tech let us watch it in 3D real time, and we could see him (I realize it really could be a girl) moving his arms and they said he was sucking his thumb. It was so exciting. Even though it really just looked like an alien Drew said the baby looks like him...I thought so too. :)

This is the baby looking at us. The two dark circle across from each other are the eye sockets. Drew and I laughed that the tech put "hi mommy" and "hi daddy" on the scariest looking picture. Thanks for that!

This one is my favorite. Its a profile shot and his feet are up in the air. So amazing!
